The most splendid capital named Bagan was founded in 1044 A.D by the King Anawrahta. In its place, you can see over 2000 religious monuments. Bagan is something special to be proud of every Myanmar citizens. It becomes a Tourism site and it is totally worth visiting, a place where you mustn’t miss going. Panoramic views across the Pagodas are breathtaking and the architectural beauty reinforces to enrich the landscape of Bagan. Bagan is located in 500 km away from Yangon and it takes 15 hours by car and as well as by boats. Bagan is rich with more than 2000 pagodas. The very famous pagodas are Shwesigon Pagoda, Ananda pagoda and some more.
POPA(Oasis of Central Myanmar)
Popa is a splendid extinct volcano area of Myanmar and it is 60km away from the south east Bagan. The city is located in 1500 km above sea level. It is even said as an oasis of central Myanmar’s dry zone. Popa celebrates the holy Nat (spirit) festivals twice in a year: the first time would be from May to June and the second time would be from November to December.
SALEY(The Native Land of Myanmar’s Literary Scholar)
Saley is existed in 15km south of Bagan and you can reach there by motor boat at small Bu Phaya jetty and by car. Enjoy a visit to Yoke Sone monastery and museum.
