DAY 01:Yangon arrival
Welcome by the Marco Polo representative on arrival at Yangon international airport and transfer to the hotel. After a brief fresh up at hotel, begins the orientation tour of Yangon. Explore the commercial capital city Yangon, the biggest city in Myanmar with a population of 5 millions. Its tree lined wide avenues, its shady green parks, and the beautiful huge lakes give Yangon the reputation of one of the most charming and lively cities in Asia. The orientation tour of Yangon includes Sule Pagoda (landmark in city centre) –is unusual in that its octagonal shape extends right up to the bell and inverted bowl, the City Hall & Colonial buildings, Chaukhtatkyi Pagoda – which includes an enormous reclining Buddha, photo stop at Karaweik Hall & Royal Barge on the Kandawgyi Royal Lake. At sunset, visit the marvelous Shwedagon Pagoda, the glistening golden stupa that towers over the capital and one of the wonders of the world, is the spiritual centre of the country.
Day 2: Yangon / Bagan (by flight) – Chin state (Kanpetlet) by car
Breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Bagan. Arrive Bagan, join with sightseeing car and proceed to Kenpalet (Chin state). The Chin lives in the Northwest border areas or further south in the Rakhine State. Mt. Victoria of 3400 meter high is the perfect place for the nature lovers. Soft trekking, butterfly and bird watching are available. Some of the women there tattoo their faces completely in tasteful designs. The ritual is entirely voluntary and as the practice is dying out, not many young women are seen with tattooed faces. But the old traditional of this tattooing face still can be seen in some villages. Their woven cotton and silk in traditional designs and colors are collector’s items. 174km for Bagan by car and roads are still very bad so this excursion is not recommended for rainy season (May to Oct). As for accommodations, only very simple guesthouses are available so this excursion is suitable only for the adventurous guests.
Day 3: Trekking to Mt. Victoria
This morning breakfast at the guesthouse; start trekking to Mt. Victoria of 3400 meter high with chin local guide. You will find the colorful birds, butterflies ad orchards all along the way to mountain. In the late afternoon, come back to guest house.
Day 4: Kanpelet – Mindet (by car)
Day 5: Trekking in Mindet & around villages
This morning after breakfast at the guesthouse; visit in Mindet and trekking to chin villages around Mindet with chin local guide. You will find the some old women with tattooed faces in some villages. In the late afternoon, come back to guesthouse.
Day 6:Mindet – Bagan (by car)
Day 7: Bagan / Yangon (by flight)
Breakfast at the hotel, you will be transferred to airport for the flight to Yangon. Arrive Yangon; visit to one of Yangon’s fabulous bazaars- an endless jumble of color, clamor, heady aromas and contraband goods. Visit Bogyoke Aung San Market (Scott) which has an enormous array of consumer goods and has the largest collections of souvenirs from all over Myanmar. This will be a wonderful opportunity to pick up some handicrafts.After shopping, proceed to China Town and walk around in the area. This late afternoon, you can stroll along the Yangon River to end up the day.
