Short Description of “Cycling Trip in Myanmar”

This is one of the most vibrant tour program which is specifically designed for the travellers who would like to experience the natural environment throughout the trip. This tour will help the travelers to experience the most industrious city, Yangon and the other historical sites of Myanmar such as Mandalay, Amarapura, Sagaing, Mingun, Monywa and its famous mountains. The travellers will also visit one of the most famous archeological sites in Southeast Asia;Bagan and let the travelers explore wonderful Pindaya caves and the Inle Lake, known as the Venice of Southeast Asia, floating garden, leg rowing fishermen, arts and crafts workshop and the Indein village which resembles the Angkor Wat of Cambodia. The highlight of this tour would be cycling trip in Sagaing where travellers will be provided with private bikes to explore the surroundings and the cooking class in Inle where they can go to local market, buy fresh food and learn cook in the traditional way from locals and enjoy the delicious meals.

  • Upon your arrival, you will be welcomed by the Marco Polo representative at Yangon international airport and you will be transferred to the hotel.
  • After a brief freshen up at hotel, the tour begins with significant places of Yangon including Sule Pagoda, the City Hall & Colonial buildings, Chaukhtatkyi Reclining Pagoda, Karaweik Hall & Royal Barge on the Kandawgyi Royal Lake. The view is just breathtaking and it will be a great spot for photo shooting.
  • At sunset, we will visit to the grand Shwedagon Pagoda, the glistening golden stupa that towers over the capital and one of the wonders of the world, is the spiritual centre of the country.
  • Stay for an overnight at a hotel in Yangon.

  • After breakfast at hotel, we will go to the airport for the flight to Mandalay.
  • Upon arrival to Mandalay, we will visit to the former royal capital of Amarapura, including an interesting stop at the Mahagandayon Monastery, U Bein Bridge;a 200 year-old bridge and the longest teak bridge in the world, Mahamuni Pagoda, gold leaf hammering workshops, Mandalay palace, Shwe Inbin Monastery, Shwenandaw Monastery, Kuthodaw Pagoda, and enjoy the panoramic sunset at Mandalay Hill.
  • Overnight at the hotel in Mandalay.
  • In the afternoon, we can pay a visit to lacquer ware workshops and continue visit to Thatbyinnyu the highest temple of Bagan , the biggest temple Dhammayangyi and the Sulamani temple.
  • Then, we will go to Shwesandaw pagoda which is built in a style of pyramind with terraces as to climb to the top to enjoy the breathtaking sunset over Bagan.
  • Overnight at a hotel in Bagan.

  • After breakfast, we will start the cycling tour to Ava. There, we will visit to Mae-Nu-Oak Kyaung, Nanmyint tower- where 27meters high masonry is, Maha Aungmye Bonzan and Bagaya Kyaung.
  • Then, we will proceed to Saging Hill which can be said as the heart of religion and the home for thousands of monks. The hill is peaceful and tranquil with the monks practicing and reciting Buddhist sermons and Dhamma. The landscape is dotted with over 600 monasteries and nunneries.
  • After that, we will visit to Soon U Ponya Shin Pagoda, Kaung Mhu Taw Pagoda and U Min Thonesal Cave Pagoda.
  • Then, we will drive back to Mandalay.
  • Overnight at the hotel in Mandalay.

  • After breakfast at the hotel, we will start cycling to Mingun, the city on the western bank of Ayerwaddy River.
  • Visit Pahtoedawgyi Pagoda, Mingun Bell which weighs about 90 tons is the world largest intact bronze bell and beautiful Hsinbyume (Mya Thein Ton) Pagoda.
  • After that, we will sail back to Mandalay from Mingun.
  • In the evening, we will go for sightseeing around the Mandalay city by bike.

  • After breakfast at hotel, we will take you to cycling point by car.
  • Then, the cycling tour to Monywa will start. Monywa is located in the Valley of Chindwin River and a pleasant destination for all the visitors. Over a long period of time, the city restores the beautiful scenery of the city with huge and shady trees on both sides of the roads.
  • In the late afternoon, we will arrive to Monywa and check in at the hotel.
  • Then, we will continue our sightseeing trip with cycling to Thanbode Pagoda where a half million of Buddha images exist.
  • Overnight at the hotel in Monywa.

  • After breakfast at hotel, we will continue cycling around Monywa visiting the Bode Tahtaung, Phowin Taung and Shwe Ba Taung.

  • Then, we will go for cycling to Pakokku – the city is famous for cotton blanket. We will visit to local market, weaving industry, peanut snacks making cottage.
  • After that, we will continue cycling to Bagan which is situated in Central part of Myanmar, on the east bank of the mighty Ayeyarwaddy River.
  • We will arrive to Bagan in the evening and check in at the hotel.
  • If time permits, we can visit a few temples in Bagan to enjoy the sunset.
  • Overnight at the hotel in Bagan.

  • After breakfast at hotel, we will bike to Nyaung U morning market which is known as Market on the Floor with a variety of local vegetables and products such as typical Myanmar snacks, traditional food, Handicrafts, “Thanakha” the most adorned Burmese Make-up, and other local specialties.
  • Then, we will visit to the most significant temples of Bagain including Shwe Zi Gone, Gu Pyout Gyi Temple, Htilominlo Temple and beautiful Ananda Temple.
  • In the late afternoon, we can climb up the terraces of Shwe-San-Daw pagoda to enjoy the panoramic view of the sunset going down into distant hills and experience peaceful, tranquil moment and magical power of Bagan.
  • Overnight at the hotel in Bagan.

  • After breakfast at hotel, we will start our cycling trip.

  • Them, we can visit Dhamayarzaka Pagoda, continue to Myin Kabar village for the visit to Myin Kabar Phaya, Manuhar Pagoda and Nan Phaya, the Sulamani Temple, Dhamayankyi.
  • In the evening, we will sail along the Ayeyarwaddy river to enjoy panoramic sunset over the river.
  • Overnight at the hotel in Bagan.

  • After breakfast at hotel, you will be transferred to the airport for the flight to Heho.
  • Upon arrival to Heho, we will cycle to Nyang Shwe, the door of the “Inle Lake”. In the late afternoon, we will arrive to Nyaung Shwe and take a rest at the hotel for a while. After that, we will proceed our cycling trip to Grape vine yard to enjoy the wine testing and enjoy the panoramic sunset. After that, we will cycle back to the hotel.
  • Overnight at the hotel in Nyang Shwe or Inle Lake.

  • After breakfast at the hotel, we will go to the local market and you will find fresh vegetables, meals and other local products from the lake. Then, we will visit to local home for the culinary class and try cooking the shan cuisines with the local family ,they will teach you how to cook local dishes . It is an amazing opportunity to interact with locals, learn new experience and enjoy the shan dishes for lunch.
  • After lunch, we will visit to Phaungdaw Oo Pagoda, the most famous pagoda of the Shan state, visit Jumping Cat Monastery and floating gardens, learn about local methods of fishing and the famous leg rowers.
  • In the evening, we can enjoy the sunset at Inle Lake.
  • Overnight at the hotel in Inle Lake or Nyaung Shwe.

  • After breakfast at the hotel, we can enjoy the beauty of the Lake until the time to transfer back to Heho airport for the flight to Yangon.
  • Upon arrival to Yangon, we will visit to the “Bogyoke Aung San Market” also known as Scott market which has an enormous array of consumer goods and has the largest collections of souvenirs from all over Myanmar. It is a must place for all travellers to do any souvenirs shopping. Hundreds of shops displaying variety of items such as paintings, traditional clothes, embroidered paintings, handicrafts and Myanmar’s gems and jewellery will all look tempting to you as if they are asking you to bring them to your country!
  • After shopping, we will proceed to China Town for a stroll and enjoy some delicacies. The China Town is buzzing with many small shops displaying fresh food and vegetables, and delicious restaurants.
  • In the late afternoon, we can stroll along the Yangon River breathing fresh air, enjoying the nature and end up the day.
  • Stay for an overnight at a hotel in Yangon.

  • After breakfast at the hotel, and relax your morning.
  • Then, you will be transferred back to the airport in time for your flight back home.
